Clinique Skincare Review

So I've been wanted to write this post for a while, but with it being a skincare review I wanted to wait until I felt I could properly rate the products.

I've been using Clinique skincare for around 3 months now and I can say I'm pleasantly surprised. Here is what I've been using;

  • Liquid Facial Soap (200ml - £15)
  • Clarifying Lotion -combination/oily (200ml - £16)
  • Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel (50ml - £17)
  • Moisture Surge (free sample with Glamour Magazine 30ml)
  • All About the Eyes (15ml - £24)
Firstly the liquid facial soap, I used to think that soap was bad for your face but since my skin has been increasingly oily lately maybe facial soap was the way forward. This liquid soap is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested (but not tested on animals), therefore it provides a light, transparent foaming liquid that has no smell and thoroughly cleanses your skin. I have found that I have less blackheads than I did 2 months ago, my skin feels softer and cleaner than my previous facial wash.

Now on to the Clarifying lotion (toner to you and I) this lotion is something I was really sceptical about, it smells like nail varnish remover (yuck, I know) and burns if you get it in your eyes... BUT this is the only product I have found that really helps control my T-zone oil and helps balance my skin. It does strip your skin, and could be harsh on some skin types but when used effectively I feel this is my secret weapon against troublesome skin.

Next is the Dramatically different moisturising gel, this is something completely new to me, I have always been a thick moisturiser kind of gal, so when I got this I was interested to see how It would work. Its a light yellow gel that sinks in instantly to the skin and quickly moisturises the skin. I sometimes think It could be slightly thicker but then I just use the Moisture Surge as a mask and my skin feels more moisturised.

The moisture surge is something I got free with Glamour Magazine a few months ago, I'm still not completely sure what it is (not a very good beauty blogger am I!) but it works! I use it as mentioned above as a quick mask or overnight when my skin feels more dry than normal. I do like this product, and I use it but I don't think I would re-purchase because I just don't think its effective enough.

All about the eyes is my absolute favourite skincare item and something I hope I never have to live without! Its a thick gel/cream consistency that takes a few seconds to soak in but feels like velvet on your skin. It has improved the appearance of my eyes and reduced my dark circles and bags under my eyes.

So overall after that essay-like blog post, I love Clinique skincare, its not too expensive, and offers a huge range of choice plus it works (which is a bonus!) I hope your get a chance to try out some the skincare at Clinique :)

Hope that didn't bore you too much :D xx

New things, Norwich haul

Evening dolls, hows your week going? I'm confused about what day it is really, I know that sounds strange but i've just been drifting around over the last few days. I slept over at my friends house last night and we had a girly sleep over with Zoe, Jaz and me :) We ate pizza, drank wine and watched t.v, it was lovely! Today we went to see Friends with Kids at the cinema, its a pretty good film :)

I went shopping to Norwich the other day with my Mum and I picked up a few things in Mac and Urban Decay, and a really pretty nail varnish from TopShop, my first (but not last) of the Topshop make-up. The nail varnish is Adrenaline and its the most sparkly pink/blue/purple shimmery explosion known to man! It is gorgeous!!

I'm still actually at uni (not fair right!) while all my friends and boyfriend finished in May im still slogging away at revision and presentation work while going to uni a few days a week until this Friday, but my exam is on the 31st of July so ill be revising 'till then really. Although I might take a break for Jack's 21st birthday in a few weeks :)

Now onto the make-up, i picked up a few Urban Decay eyeliners in Norwich, i repurchased Binge (dark navy blue) and got Delinquent (deep shimmering purple) It's the first (deep) purple eyeliner i've got from Urban Decay because the one that came with the original set I bought wasn't very impressive. I do have the Bobbi Brown liquid eyeliner in purple but i do struggle with liquid eyeliners.

China Glaze- Flirty Femininity

Afternoon dolls, hows your week been?

I'm sitting here half cooking for my mums birthday meal tonight, and i've just painted my nails with the OPI Strawberry Margarita (post to follow).

This is my first China Glaze nail varnish and Im really impressed, it went on really well, a few coats and it was opaque and it lasted a whole 6 days! Very impressed! Anyway, pictures! :)

I love the colour of this nail varnish too, very two toned coral/pink/purple, oh that's three toned! ha

Enjoy your weekend lovelies!! :)

Saturday's shopping haul!

Hey dolls, hope everyone is okay, i'm ridiculously hungover after last night out with the uni girls! I went shopping yesterday with my friend Zoe and we got quite a bit of stuff (I say we, I bought a lot and she helped me! ha)

I got some cheap OPI and China Glaze nail stuff for trade price (i've never been so excited!)

I also picked up my usual skincare items from Clinique and some cheap belts from Primark. Oh and a really nice green vest top from New Look, i got some of these a while ago but spilt bleach on them while cleaning, not a good look!

I picked up the OPI nail varnish's:
Princess Rule, Strawberry Margarita and Honk if you love OPI (not pictured alone)

I also got China Glaze in Flirty Femininity which im wearing at the moment, such a lovely 2tone pink/orangey with coral undertones! Its BEAUUUTIFUL! :)

The eyelashes pictured are for my mum ha, she wanted some new ones instead of always borrowing mine!

Saturday night makeup!

Hey dolls, hows it going? I hope everyone's having a good weekend, today is my best friend's birthday! Happy Birthday Zo!!

I've been a bit of crazy week and i've got lots of uni work on at the moment, but I went out last night for Zoe's birthday, we went to mambos, oh my god the food was amazing!!

I picked up this Ecotools slanted brush for my eyebrows, my old one from Elf is getting a bit ratty. It was only around £5 :)

Im wearing eyeshadows from both of the Naked palettes from Urban Decay and Bobbi Brown lipgloss.

I can't believe how much I use the Naked palettes, they are great for any look, can't recommend them more!!

Im starting to get really excited about summer, its Jack's 21st birthday soon and we are going up to Scotland to see our good friends who moved up there a few months ago :)
