Nails Inc Colour Collection

Hey, sorry its been ages! Same old stuff really. I've been at uni since the end of my placement in September, its frustrating but im getting on alright, just got essays i need to buckle down and do!

I've been spending a lot of time catching up with my friends which is lovely, seeing my friends baby who is beeeauutiful! Such a cuddly little monkey! Its nice just to chill and take a few seconds to remember what is important in life!

I went shopping the other day to the new Tkmaxx near me, i love the one in Ipswich but Bury st Edmunds is so much closer to me so its nice to be able to just pop in there when i want!

I went straight to the beauty goodies and saw some lovely nail polishes! This Nails Inc set caught my eye, it has everything i love in nail polishes! Glitter, pink, purple and a nude/taupe one for the times you need serious nails! (Ha serious nails!) I was a bit cautious because I dont want a fake set, i checked all the things i could think of, and then thought "who cares!" if its fake and i've not paid a fortune does it matter? i still like the colours so i dont really care if they are fake!

I have checked since i got home just so i could let other people know they are/aren't fake and im still unsure! So if you think i've got fakes by the picture let me know!!

These aren't the best pictures but the lighting is really bad in my kitchen at the moment! Sorry, the whole set was £14.99 normally much more than that!  So i hope they arent fake but if they are im still going to enjoy them!! :D

Rimmel "Kate" lipstick in 05

Hi people of the internet! Hope your having a lovely October! Mines been a bit crap, i've got flu! Yuckkk. Im in a constant state of not being able to breath through my nose, and chocking on tea! Its rubbish!

Recently I popped into Superdrug to get my trusty Blistex lip saver and found myself drawn to the new Kate Moss Rimmel collection, after seeing it sprout up on blogs all over the place I thought i'd give it a glance. Boy am I glad I did! This lipstick is perfect for me at the moment, it goes with my new darker hair colour and more grungy clothing style.

The colour is 05, clearly a very creative name there... but its easy to remember and doesn't make you feel like a perv when telling people what its called... (Nars Orgasm comes to mind)

I wore this out to a birthday party last week and I have to say, I was extreamly impressed with its staying power, I was drinking and nibbling things and it just stayed put like Urban Decay eye liner! :D +1 to the Rimmel lipstick then!

The only downside to this fab product is its smell, I have a nose like a bloodhound (makes being a nurse all the more gross) the smell of this lipstick is plasticy, like cheap lipstick, which it is! But that's what you get with a £4.97 price tag.

I have to say, the packaging is impressive too, its sleek and neat and looks pretty professional (if a lipstick can be professional :S) Apart from the huge white sticker and bar code, anyone could look at the tube and say it was high end! :D Lets face it, we all want to be proud of a lipstick we take out of our bag and put on while were on the train!

The colour is a peachy pink with a hint of rose, its matte so it can dry your lips. I like to put some of my trusty Blistex on a few mins before so it can soak in, so when you apply the lipstick it doesn't feel like your lips are going to crack.

I have to say, for a cheap drug store lipstick im pretty surprised by the staying power and colour, and it helps that you could by at least 2 for the price of one Mac lipstick! :D

Norwich Haul

Hello! How is everyone? Sorry its been so long, i've just finished my placement on A&E and absolutely loved it! Seen some amazing stuff but its nice to be going back to Uni on Tuesday and seeing the Uni girls (and boy) :D

I went shopping yesterday with my mum, we went to Norwich even though i am full of a cold :( Mum wanted to find a Jacket and some other things and i just went along to pick up some bits of make-up i needed :)

I bought some moisturiser because my Clinique moisturising lotion is all used up, i decided to buy Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser because i wanted something a little thicker than the lotion i was using before. I have used Liz Earle moisturiser before and was really impressed! Its only £18.50 as well which is less than the Clinique one :D

I also picked up my Urban Decay eyeliner in Mildew, its the prettiest golden green that works on its own or with lots of green toned eye shadow.

I havent been to Lush in a while so i popped in to see what was new and got some "lush" bath bombs, the new Twilight bomb and geo fizz, which is meant to be good for colds! :( lets hope it works!

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil

Hey guys, how have you been?!? It's been a while since I posted, im on placement at the moment in A&E so i've been so busy!

I have been meaning to post about this product for a few weeks, i bought it in august time and have been using it on and off.

Originally i bought it after seeing lots of blogs mention it and how it was a "favourite product" of many bloggers out there!

I haven't had the best time with this product, but that could be partly my fault. I knew this shower oil wasn't going to foam up as much as a "normal" shower gel, but i wasn't expecting the foam to be so little and last for such a small time.

The smell is also very mild, and for someone who likes a strong smelling shower gel this really wasn't the product for me! This isn't the fault of the product, but my expectations were very high.

When buying the product, i smelt it and felt it, looked at the price and had to pick my jaw off the floor! I can't actually believe i spend £16.50 on a shower gel! When I normally stretch to (at most) £6 on a shower gel, spending nearly double that i was expecting something fantastic! I was slightly disappointed with this product.

Im not advising you guys not to buy this product i just wanted to give you my thoughts on it :)

Purple/taupe eyes

Hey guys, thought i would just do a quick post about my new eye products. I bought both of these on holiday, well one on holiday the other at the airport.

I really love this purple/taupe eye colour its much more wearable during the day than my usual bright purple.

I used Urban Decay Rockstar as the eyeliner.

The only problem with this Channel eye product (i think its cross between a shadow and a cream) is it doesnt have amazing lasting power. Around 2/3 hours and it does crease without a primer.

Its been a long time...

Above is a picture of my mum and aunty at Glastonbury Tor, it was a lovely holiday :)

Sorry guys, i've been on holiday for the last week and before that i was house-sitting and i've been all over the place really :D

I've had an amazing summer and spent loads of time relaxing and seeing all my friends and family :) When I went to Greece last week I picked up some things in Sephora and I got some Bioderma water too :) excited to try these!

Before I went away I found the Lidi perfume Suddenly, which is meant to give Coco Channel perfume a run for its money! I really love its fresh sweet smell but the staying power is shocking... after 20 mins I really cant smell it any more, but other people still can for a few hours so I suppose that's pretty good going.

I got a lovely purple eye palette which I can't wait to use in a look soon :)

When we were in the city of Thesoloniki in Greece I saw quite a few different types of skincare brands in the Pharmacy's which I was extremely tempted by, but I didnt have much room left back in my suitcase so I couldn't buy much :(

The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter

This may be the best body moisturiser I have ever used! Just puttin' it out there...

I have used these body butters for years and have always loved them, in fact i may have blogged about them before, but I just thought you guys needed a refresher!

Its so soft, smells fresh and floral, is natural* and soaks in to your skin really quickly.

I love the body shop butters because they have so many different fragrances, some fruity, nutty or floral. I have a mixture of the different fragrances and some work better than others.

Moringa has always been my favourite, its a sort of jasmine/sweetpea fragrance. Some people love it, others hate it so you really have to smell it before you buy.

The tubs are 200ml and cost £12.50 although the body shop do discount cards, and you can find vouchers sometimes online :)

Mid-week make-up

Hasn't it been the worst week for weather! Just awful really, oh well! We power on through anyway.
I've been crazy busy recently, doing some clinical recovery hours at one of my placements, it basically means I have to make-up hours from when i've been off sick in placements in this year. My exam is also coming up soon, so I have to make time to revise (which i'm not good at) its also Jacks 21st birthday on Monday and im really excited about all the things im planning :)

I just thought I would show my mid week make-up look, its pretty much the same as always, but in case you had forgotten my face, here it is :D

I'm trying really hard to loose more weight and detox this week, but it seems no matter how hard I stick to Weight Watchers I still don't loose weight, i exercise too so I really don't know what is going wrong :S

My friend Zoe is going on holiday soon and we went shopping for her clothes, which was good because when I go on holiday later in August she can help me !! Ha :D

Clinique Skincare Review

So I've been wanted to write this post for a while, but with it being a skincare review I wanted to wait until I felt I could properly rate the products.

I've been using Clinique skincare for around 3 months now and I can say I'm pleasantly surprised. Here is what I've been using;

  • Liquid Facial Soap (200ml - £15)
  • Clarifying Lotion -combination/oily (200ml - £16)
  • Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel (50ml - £17)
  • Moisture Surge (free sample with Glamour Magazine 30ml)
  • All About the Eyes (15ml - £24)
Firstly the liquid facial soap, I used to think that soap was bad for your face but since my skin has been increasingly oily lately maybe facial soap was the way forward. This liquid soap is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested (but not tested on animals), therefore it provides a light, transparent foaming liquid that has no smell and thoroughly cleanses your skin. I have found that I have less blackheads than I did 2 months ago, my skin feels softer and cleaner than my previous facial wash.

Now on to the Clarifying lotion (toner to you and I) this lotion is something I was really sceptical about, it smells like nail varnish remover (yuck, I know) and burns if you get it in your eyes... BUT this is the only product I have found that really helps control my T-zone oil and helps balance my skin. It does strip your skin, and could be harsh on some skin types but when used effectively I feel this is my secret weapon against troublesome skin.

Next is the Dramatically different moisturising gel, this is something completely new to me, I have always been a thick moisturiser kind of gal, so when I got this I was interested to see how It would work. Its a light yellow gel that sinks in instantly to the skin and quickly moisturises the skin. I sometimes think It could be slightly thicker but then I just use the Moisture Surge as a mask and my skin feels more moisturised.

The moisture surge is something I got free with Glamour Magazine a few months ago, I'm still not completely sure what it is (not a very good beauty blogger am I!) but it works! I use it as mentioned above as a quick mask or overnight when my skin feels more dry than normal. I do like this product, and I use it but I don't think I would re-purchase because I just don't think its effective enough.

All about the eyes is my absolute favourite skincare item and something I hope I never have to live without! Its a thick gel/cream consistency that takes a few seconds to soak in but feels like velvet on your skin. It has improved the appearance of my eyes and reduced my dark circles and bags under my eyes.

So overall after that essay-like blog post, I love Clinique skincare, its not too expensive, and offers a huge range of choice plus it works (which is a bonus!) I hope your get a chance to try out some the skincare at Clinique :)

Hope that didn't bore you too much :D xx

New things, Norwich haul

Evening dolls, hows your week going? I'm confused about what day it is really, I know that sounds strange but i've just been drifting around over the last few days. I slept over at my friends house last night and we had a girly sleep over with Zoe, Jaz and me :) We ate pizza, drank wine and watched t.v, it was lovely! Today we went to see Friends with Kids at the cinema, its a pretty good film :)

I went shopping to Norwich the other day with my Mum and I picked up a few things in Mac and Urban Decay, and a really pretty nail varnish from TopShop, my first (but not last) of the Topshop make-up. The nail varnish is Adrenaline and its the most sparkly pink/blue/purple shimmery explosion known to man! It is gorgeous!!

I'm still actually at uni (not fair right!) while all my friends and boyfriend finished in May im still slogging away at revision and presentation work while going to uni a few days a week until this Friday, but my exam is on the 31st of July so ill be revising 'till then really. Although I might take a break for Jack's 21st birthday in a few weeks :)

Now onto the make-up, i picked up a few Urban Decay eyeliners in Norwich, i repurchased Binge (dark navy blue) and got Delinquent (deep shimmering purple) It's the first (deep) purple eyeliner i've got from Urban Decay because the one that came with the original set I bought wasn't very impressive. I do have the Bobbi Brown liquid eyeliner in purple but i do struggle with liquid eyeliners.

China Glaze- Flirty Femininity

Afternoon dolls, hows your week been?

I'm sitting here half cooking for my mums birthday meal tonight, and i've just painted my nails with the OPI Strawberry Margarita (post to follow).

This is my first China Glaze nail varnish and Im really impressed, it went on really well, a few coats and it was opaque and it lasted a whole 6 days! Very impressed! Anyway, pictures! :)

I love the colour of this nail varnish too, very two toned coral/pink/purple, oh that's three toned! ha

Enjoy your weekend lovelies!! :)

Sunday 1 July 2012

Saturday's shopping haul!

Hey dolls, hope everyone is okay, i'm ridiculously hungover after last night out with the uni girls! I went shopping yesterday with my friend Zoe and we got quite a bit of stuff (I say we, I bought a lot and she helped me! ha)

I got some cheap OPI and China Glaze nail stuff for trade price (i've never been so excited!)

I also picked up my usual skincare items from Clinique and some cheap belts from Primark. Oh and a really nice green vest top from New Look, i got some of these a while ago but spilt bleach on them while cleaning, not a good look!

I picked up the OPI nail varnish's:
Princess Rule, Strawberry Margarita and Honk if you love OPI (not pictured alone)

I also got China Glaze in Flirty Femininity which im wearing at the moment, such a lovely 2tone pink/orangey with coral undertones! Its BEAUUUTIFUL! :)

The eyelashes pictured are for my mum ha, she wanted some new ones instead of always borrowing mine!

Saturday night makeup!

Hey dolls, hows it going? I hope everyone's having a good weekend, today is my best friend's birthday! Happy Birthday Zo!!

I've been a bit of crazy week and i've got lots of uni work on at the moment, but I went out last night for Zoe's birthday, we went to mambos, oh my god the food was amazing!!

I picked up this Ecotools slanted brush for my eyebrows, my old one from Elf is getting a bit ratty. It was only around £5 :)

Im wearing eyeshadows from both of the Naked palettes from Urban Decay and Bobbi Brown lipgloss.

I can't believe how much I use the Naked palettes, they are great for any look, can't recommend them more!!

Im starting to get really excited about summer, its Jack's 21st birthday soon and we are going up to Scotland to see our good friends who moved up there a few months ago :)
